A Talk by Karl Lumbers
Trinity House, founded by Royal Charter by Hentry VIII in 1514, is a key organisation supporting maritime safety around England, Wales and the Channel Islands. It owns and operates lighthouses, light vessels, bouys and beacons, and is responsible for marking, and clearing, wrecks when required. The organisation also helps develop advanced electrical navigation systems to reduce relience on GPS and serves as a Nautical Assessors in Admiralty Court. Trinity House also includes a large maritime fraternity with a charitable arm that annually donates over £5m to maritime causes. HRH The Princess Royal serves as Master.
